FUND
REQUEST
FOR THE FOUNDING OF THE MUSEUM MODERN-IST
The Modern Arts
Museum needs a budget to afford the restoration of the 100 years
old Stone School in Prince Island and to transform it into a center
museum by 2005. This budget should cover the restoration of the
building, construction of exhibition areas both indoor and outdoor,
suitable for sculptures and other works of art, the establishment
of a small coffee-house and a shop for souvenir, administrative
units, some indoor workshops, financement of the guards, renewing
the infrastructure of the school building, promoting public relations,
and a working capital for helping Turkish or international artists
who would give some piece of art as grant or create new ones for
the museum, as to the expenditures of shipment, creation, materials,
or hosting the foreign artists in Prince Island.

* We do not
have yet an estimation about insurance of the artworks and the property,
but we hope that some local insurance companies may take over the
costs for free advertising. However we know that the project of
Harlem Bienial envisioned insurance expenditures as USD 50.000.
So we did not include insurance costs into the estimated budget,
but rather we tended to enlarge the unexpectable part of the budget.
** The amount expected is much lower with respect to international
standards, but we hope that many artists will donate their artworks
to the Museum.
